The East-West Center is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Pacific Islands Women in Leadership program (WIL), which is the first step in launching the Rarotonga Partnership for the Advancement of Pacific Island Women. Up to 10 participants will be selected for the first cohort, which will take place at the East-West Center in Honolulu from November 3 - 26, 2013.
The Pacific Islands Women in Leadership program (WIL) is designed to create a vibrant network of women leaders across the Pacific region who will learn from each other and provide mutual support as they seek to bring about positive changes in their island societies.
The WIL has two main outcomes:
- The development of a network of women leaders working on Pacific women's empowerment issues and connected to supportive institutions; and
- The development of applied leadership projects designed within and for specific communities.
Please visit the East West Center website for more details and to apply. Applications must be completed by July 8, 2013.
