"Moana, The Rising of the Sea" Film Screening

 

WHAT:    "Moana, The Rising of the Sea" - film screening & panel discussion

HOSTS:  John Van Dyke Institute and Environmental Law Program at UH Law School

The film centers on climate change in the islands of Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Niue, and Fiji. Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmaker Vilsoni Hereniko, Professors Maxine Burkett and Jonathan Osorio, and the Consul General of the Marshall Islands, Mr Noda Lojkar.

The film-maker, Vilsoni Hereniko, is from Rotuma in Fiji. He is a professor at the Academy for Creative Media at UH as well as the Oceania Center for Pacific Islands Studies and the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies at the University of the South Pacific.
